PASTOR SMOKIE NORFUL
Rev. W.R. “Smokie” Norful Jr., Senior Pastor of Victory Cathedral Worship Center in Bolingbrook, IL, and Atlanta Georgia is a Grammy award-winning gospel artist, visionary leader, and dynamic communicator whose impact spans ministry, music, and education. Since founding Victory Cathedral in 2005, he has led the church to extraordinary growth, launching multiple campuses and connecting with millions worldwide. A celebrated recording artist, Pastor Norful has earned two Grammy Awards, 11 Stellar Awards, and five Dove Awards, with Billboard naming him the top-selling gospel artist in 2003 and 2004. His debut album I Need You Now and follow-up Nothing Without You became gold-certified classics, and his song “No Greater Love” won the Grammy for Best Gospel Performance/Song in 2015. Beyond the pulpit and stage, he’s an accomplished author (Take the Lid Off), educator, and entrepreneur, holding advanced degrees in divinity and leadership, and serving on the Board of Regents at Trinity International University. JONATHAN McREYNOLDS
Jonathan McReynolds is a Grammy award-winning gospel artist, songwriter, and educator whose soulful voice and transparent lyrics have redefined contemporary gospel music. Born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, McReynolds launched his career with Life Music in 2012 and quickly rose to prominence with chart-topping albums like Make Room and People. His artistry has earned him 15 Stellar Awards, 4 Dove Awards, and 5 Grammy nominations, including a win for “Moving On” in 2021. Known for hits like “Not Lucky, I’m Loved” and “Cycles,” he’s collaborated with icons such as India Arie, Mali Music, and Kirk Franklin, and even starred in BET’s Favorite Son and served as a judge on Sunday Best. Under the visionary leadership of Mayor Mary Alexander-Basta, Bolingbrook has unveiled a stunning new permanent pavilion behind Town Center—a space designed to elevate community gatherings and celebrate the village’s vibrant spirit. Completed in June 2024, this architectural gem replaces the seasonal tent with a weather-resistant structure that offers shade, shelter, and a beautiful ambiance for concerts, festivals, and everyday moments of connection. Fueled by grant funding secured through the efforts of State Rep. Natalie Manley, the pavilion stands as a testament to collaboration, innovation, and Mayor Basta’s unwavering commitment to enhancing public spaces. With its sleek design and strategic location, it’s not just a venue—it’s a symbol of Bolingbrook’s growth, unity, and dedication to creating joyful experiences for all.
